Each year Southwest Camps, Inc. conducts instructional clinics for coaches and female softball players across the country.

Coach Candrea has guided the Arizona softball program for the last 24 years to unparalleled heights. The numbers are astounding, more than 1200 wins and eight national titles, two world championships, and a Gold and Silver medal at the last two Olympic Games while guiding the National Team. The awards are equally impressive and numerous. For himself, 10 time Pac-10 coach of the year, four time national coach of the year, and the only coach to receive the USOC’s most prestigious award, the Olympic Shield.

More importantly to him are the awards his players have accumulated over the years. His players have tallied 86 All-American citations, nine Pac-10 player of the year winners, and five national player of the year awards. A total of 22 players have represented the US on an international stage. With a graduation rate exceeding 99% learning both on and off the field is what Candrea’s players do best.

Our camps and clinics teach skills for the game and provide information for coaches for success. It is his desire to help softball continue to grow as a sport at every level. Our camps are not an official function of the University of Arizona.
