Mike Candrea and Southwest Camps 25th Annual Summer Softball Camp
Mike Candrea and Southwest Camps are pleased to present the 25th Annual Summer Softball Camp held in beautiful Tucson Arizona June 10-14, 2012. Our summer camp offers 5 days of expert instruction in Hitting, Pitching, Infield Play, Outfield Play, Catching, Sliding, Left Handed Slap Bunting, Base Running, and Throwing throughout the camp. Campers will get the opportunity to play games at Hillenbrand Stadium, home of 8 time National Champion Arizona Wildcats. Campers will have the opportunity to refine and develop their skills as they work alongside the best clinicians in the country. Staff from across the United States will be in Tucson working with each player during the camp.
Campers from 4th-12th grade will be separated by their grade in school and position and will have the opportunity to work along side the 2012 Arizona Wildcat Softball Team at the camp held at The University of Arizona. Each camper is asked to provide their own glove, cleats, helmet, bat and batting gloves.
Check-In for Mike Candrea and Southwest Camps 25th Annual Summer Softball Camp begins at 5:45pm on Sunday June 10th with camp sessions starting that same evening at 7:30pm. We ask that campers EAT dinner before they check into the residence hall. Special arrangements can be made for campers traveling in from tournaments and arriving late to campus. Camp finishes by noon on Thursday June 14th, so campers can get to weekend tournaments in a timely manner.
We provide 2 options for this camp, Day Camper and Overnight Camper. Overnight campers check in on Sunday the 10th at 5:45pm and check out on Thursday the 14th by 11:45am. Overnight campers stay on the U of A campus in a dormitory room and have all of their meals included in their camp fee. Day campers adhere to the following schedule. Camp Check in for Day Campers is Sunday June 10 at 7:00pm with an evening session running from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Day Campers will attend camp June 11-13 from 9:00am until 4:30pm with only lunch provided. On June 14th, Day campers will attend camp from 9:00-11:30am.
Each camper will receive a Mike Candrea and Southwest Camps T-shirt sponsored by Nike and will have the opportunity to receive autographs from the clinicians and current and former Arizona Wildcat Softball players participating in the Summer Camp. There will also be a photograph opportunity for any player wishing to snap a photo with any of the clinicians or U of A 2012 Softball Players. You will need to provide your own camera.
Please mark your calendar for Mike Candrea and Southwest Camps 25th Annual Summer Softball Camp held June 10-14, 2012. The cost of the Overnight Camp is $530.00 and payment in full is due at time of registration. The cost of the Day camp is $430.00. Our cancelation policy states that any player not able to attend will forfeit $100 of their payment if we are notified by email by June 1st, 2012. All cancellations made on or after June 2nd, 2012 will forfeit the entire payment.

- Things to bring: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Catching Gear, Cleats, Water Bottle or Water Cooler, softball
clothes, swimsuit, visor or hats are MANDATORY each day, towel, shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts, sliding pads and/or game pants, money for camp store. Campers are asked to wear short sleeved or long sleeved shirts and no tank tops. We ask campers to bring a hand towel that they can dunk in one of the ice buckets we have provided at the stadium. The hand towels can be worn around the camper’s neck to keep them cool during the hot days. Overnight campers will need to bring personal toiletries, towels, flip flops and bedding. Campers can bring a sleeping bag and a pillow or sheets and a blanket. Dorm beds do not come with linens. All dorm rooms are air conditioned. There are no phones or TV’s in the rooms. - Airport Transportation: Airport transportation can be arranged thru Arizona Stagecoach at www.azstagecoach.com (520) 889-1000 or any other shuttle service that you prefer. Campers flying into Tucson should arrive into Tucson International Airport no earlier than 4:00pm and no later than 10:00pm on Sunday, June 10. Campers flying in before 4:00pm will need to find something to do until check in
starts, as the residence halls will not be staffed until 5:00 on Sunday. Campers should schedule their departing flights out of Tucson between 12:30 and 4:00pm on Thursday, June 14 and should make those arrangements through Arizona Stagecoach or any other shuttle service you choose.
